Antoine Di Mauro war ein Teil der Emigration der sizilianischen Luthiers (Busato, Oliveri Anastasio, etc) die Catania im frühen 20. Jahrhundert verliessen. In den 1930er Jahren gründeten Di Mauro und seine Landsleute eine Reihe von Werkstätten im Osten von Paris. Sehr schnell lieferten Sie was der Markt damals brauchte: Jazz-Gitarren im Stil der Zeit.

Antoine Di Mauro was part of the emigration of the Sicilian Luthiers (Busato, Oliveri Anastasio, etc.) who left Catania in the early 20th century. Einer der erfolgreichsten war sicherlich Antoine Di Mauro. Seine Gitarren waren verbreitet und wurden für viele Stile benutzt. Berühmte Spieler dieser Gitarren sind oder waren: Dorado Schmitt,  Moreno, Boulou Ferre, Patrick Saussois, Samy Daussat etc.

Die hier angebotene Gitarre ist ein etwas unübliches Beispiel aus den 40/50er Jahren mit rundem Schalloch, Halsübergang 12. Bund und einer kurzen Mensur von 64cm. Auf der Rückseite der Kopfplatte ist das Logo DiMauros eingebrannt.

The guitar offered here is a somewhat unusual example from the 40s / 50s with a round soundhole, neck transition 12th fret and a short scale length of 64cm. The DiMauros logo is burned into the back of the headstock.

Die Decke verfügt über 4 Leisten, während der leicht gebogene Rücken keine Beleistung hat. Es wurden auch nicht traditionell Reifchen für die Decken-Korpus Verbindung benutzt, sondern hier hatte DiMauro eine eigene unique Technik mit kleinen Klötzchen, die wie Abschnitte aussehen.

The top has 4 braces, while the slightly curved back has no bracing. There were also no traditional hoops used for the ceiling-body connection, but here DiMauro had its own unique technology with small blocks that look like sections of crapwood.

Der Zustand der Gitarre ist gut . Fast Originalzustand, jeden Menge Dings und Dongs , aber nicht Ernstes. Gutes Griffbrett und eine komfortable Saitenhöhe zum druckvollen Spiel, vor allem Rhythmus ist ein Traum.

The guitar is in good condition. Almost original condition, lots of things and dongs, about not serious. Good fingerboard and a comfortable string height for powerful play, especially rhythm is a dream.
