Yohann Cholet schreibt über sich: "My name is Yohann Cholet. I started building guitars in my grandfather's workshop 20 years ago.At that time I was playing but I couldn't afford to buy a nice guitar, so I decided to build one myself.I began with an electric guitar.Once it was finished, I started building another one and... that was it!I didn't stop since then. After a few years, a few guitars and the passion growing... I decided to become a professional. So in 2003, I went to England at "Newark&Sherwood college" to study acoustic guitar making. In the meantime my wife Laetitia was studying violin making. We came back in France in 2007 and opened our own workshop a year after. We now work together as "Y&L Cholet" building and repairing guitars and violins."
Djangobooks schreibt: "Yohann Cholet, who hails from a long line of woodworkers, first gained a passion for lutherie in his teens while building violins in his grandfather's workshop. After graduating with honors from the acclaimed lutherie program at the Newark & Sherwood College in England, Yohann joined the ranks of the "new school" of French craftsman building guitars in the Selmer Maccaferri style. His instruments are known for their elegant workmanship, sublime tone, and easy playability. Yohann's guitars are particularly noteworthy for the fact that they are "slow built" entirely from hand tools, a rarity in this age of power tools and CNC machines."
Who is playing? Judy Rankin from the band "Tikno swing" Kevin Goubern (from the bands "Caragoss" and "la canne à swing") Dominique Rouquier (from the band "les pommes de ma douche"), Kalle Vogel (Hot Club d`Allemagne)
